Which cupboard, switch or tap do you always check in a Bruges rental?

A fresh coat of paint makes the room look tidy but says nothing about old leaks. The kitchen window opens onto a narrow space and I can't judge the airflow online. The bathroom cabinet is the first place I plan to look for hidden damp.
