Community Guidelines
Be genuine and accurate
Use accurate account information and describe genuine experiences. Do not impersonate another person or organization, create deceptive identities, fabricate evidence, falsely claim official status, manipulate engagement or misrepresent goods, rentals, events, relationships or commercial connections. Do not use edited or AI-generated media to impersonate someone, fabricate a real event or materially mislead other users. Clearly disclose synthetic or materially altered media when a reasonable person could otherwise mistake it for an authentic person, place or event.
Keep Places and location data accurate
Authorized administrators must use reliable sources and check the correct country or area, province or state, city or area, category, name and address before publishing or updating a Places listing. Do not enter a state, province, district, borough, neighbourhood or street into the city field merely to fill an empty value. Do not invent descriptions, opening hours, prices, contact details, ratings, reviews or source claims. Preserve the source, usage rights and last-checked information where the publishing workflow provides those fields, and correct or remove information that is shown to be inaccurate or outdated.
Respect other people
Do not harass, threaten, stalk, shame or target people with hateful, degrading or discriminatory content. Do not share another person’s private information, precise location, credentials, private communications, intimate material or other confidential information without a lawful basis and appropriate permission. Do not encourage others to invade someone’s privacy or contact them against their wishes.
Keep people safe
Do not promote or facilitate violence, self-harm, sexual exploitation, trafficking, grooming, coercion or non-consensual sexual content. Content involving the sexual exploitation of minors is prohibited and may be reported to appropriate authorities. Do not use the platform to facilitate terrorism, extremist violence, dangerous activities or unlawful sales of regulated goods or services.
No scams, manipulation or illegal activity
Do not use Board, Share, Places, Moments, reviews or messages for fraud, phishing, malware, counterfeit goods, illegal services, prohibited weapons, controlled substances, money laundering, deceptive fundraising or attempts to evade law or platform restrictions. Do not create fake reviews, coordinate ratings, use undisclosed incentives for positive or negative reviews, or use multiple accounts to manufacture popularity.
Post only content you may use
Respect copyright, trademarks, image and publicity rights, privacy, database rights and confidentiality. Upload only material you created or are authorized to share under a licence or other lawful basis. Follow attribution, modification and sharing conditions attached to a source. Do not remove watermarks or rights information, bypass access controls, or present third-party content as owned by Meecat or by you. Permission to view or link to material does not necessarily include permission to copy and upload it.
Use each section properly
Use Board for questions, help, meetups, rentals and sales; Share and Moments for personal updates; and Places for administrator-published local information. Select the most accurate category and location. Do not spam, post substantially duplicate content, manipulate filters or keywords, conceal commercial intent, or repeatedly redirect users away from Meecat through misleading links.
Disclose advertising and commercial interests
Advertising, paid placement, sponsored content, incentives, employment, ownership and other material commercial relationships must be disclosed clearly where they could affect how users understand a recommendation or listing. A disclosure must be easy to notice and understand and must not be hidden only in a profile, footer or external link.
Meet and transact carefully
Verify identities and important details using independent or official sources, use safe public meeting places, tell someone you trust where you are going and avoid sending money, credentials or sensitive information to people you have not verified. Meecat does not guarantee members, listings, rentals, sales, routes, events or third-party services.
Reporting, corrections and rights notices
Use Report when content or conduct may violate these Guidelines, and Block when you do not want contact from another member. Use Contact us for a Places-data correction, privacy request, copyright or other legal notice. Identify the exact URL or content ID, explain the concern and provide supporting information. Do not submit reports or rights notices that you know are false, abusive or materially incomplete.
Enforcement and appeals
Administrators may reduce visibility, remove content, restrict features or suspend accounts. Serious or repeated violations may result in account termination. We review available context and may preserve relevant records. Where appropriate and legally required, we will give notice, explain the principal reason for a decision and provide an appeal or complaint option. We may take urgent action without advance notice when reasonably necessary to protect safety, preserve evidence or comply with law.
